We'd love to say a huge thank you to Gaywood Tesco's Community Champion, Becca, for continuously considering us for their generous donations. Thanks to their support, we've been able to supply books to different patients throughout the hospital, donate skincare products to our Cancer Care Unit and find new raffle prizes.
Located in Foundry Place, just off North Street in Burnham Market, Socius offers locally sourced produce in dishes which change to reflect the seasons. The food is served in the form of snacks and small plates, designed to share. The open plan restaurant and kitchen was designed to create a unique and sociable dining experience where guests can enjoy the food and drink on offer, whilst watching the team at work.
Socius have been raising money for various local charities since opening in 2018 and have raised hundreds of thousands of pounds in order to make a difference in the local community. From March 2025 Socius are proudly supporting QEHKL Charity.

The family-run business, Supreme Windows, often give back to the QEHKL children’s ward around special times of the year. They started making donations in 2024 as a way of saying thanks to the ward who cared for a young relative.

Thanks to the partnership, they have paired all our gyms with a local NHS charity, to support with fundraising and volunteering opportunities in King's Lynn.

Inspirational hospital fundraiser Gavin English, who single-handedly raised more than £115,000 for QEHKL Charity’s cancer services funds over the past decade, has died aged 86.
The great grandad from Docking had dedicated himself over the last 10 years to raising money for QEHKL Charity in memory of his late wife Frances. He held 500 car boot sales, paying all fees and travel expenses from his own pocket and 300 collections at local supermarkets.
Gavin’s fundraising saw a huge range of improvements for cancer patients; among them new chairs for The QEH chemotherapy room, a renovated waiting area in the Macmillan Unit and the refurbishment of the Peace and Hope Garden, which gives an outside space for reflection and relaxation for cancer patients.

The Breast of Friends first joined forces back in 2019 as a group of friends who has all been impacted by cancer in some way. They have been raising money for the Breast Care and Chemotherapy Units ever since. The group, made up of Deborah Wright, Claire Ling, Gail Ruffell, Joanne and Jimmy Hazell, Paul and Jeanette Kidd, hosted their annual ball at Briarfields Hotel in Titchwell, treating lucky guests to an evening of music, dancing and a lively atmosphere.
Jeannette and Paul Kidd, the first of the group to begin fundraising, have raised a tremendous £50,000 since 2019. Paul Kidd, from The Breast of Friends, commented: “I personally wanted to give something back in appreciation of the treatment and care my wife Jeanette received at both the Breast Care and Chemotherapy Units. Along the way some wonderful friends have joined us in the fundraising who have also had the experience of going through the cancer journey themselves or supporting loved ones going through cancer treatment at the QEH”.

Maggie Drew, from Hunstanton, is no stranger to fundraising for The QEH.
The 31-year-old mother of one, who has raised just over £20,000 for the hospital, to purchase three ultrasound scanners for the hospital’s Critical Care Unit which recently cared for her late mum, Moira. Moira was diagnosed with Sjogren’s Syndrome in 2009 and was treated at The QEH, spending a lot of time is critical care due to the complexity of her illness. Maggie said: “I wanted to give something back to them in particular because they helped care for my mum before she died in late July 2020.”
Maggie is currently fundraising for The QEH's EPIC Moves, Better Lives appeal, which aims to continue our fantastic reconditioning and exercise therapy for patients living with cognitive impairment and frailty.

Gavin was a QEH charity fundraiser who single-handedly raised £115,000 for cancer care services at the hospital. When he sadly passed away in January 2024, the Rock Choir was so moved by dedication the whole choir decided to stepped in to carry on his work. So far, the incredible singers have raised more than £700 in Gavin’s honour which has been deposited with the QEHKL Charity for the Cancer Care Treatment Fund. With more events in the pipeline that looks set to grow.
The station, which has been based at The Trust since it opened in 1980, prides itself on being a free-of-charge source of entertainment and news for patients, staff, and visitors to the hospital. The station is run entirely by a small team of volunteers and listeners can tune into Hospital Radio Lynn online at hospitalradiolynn.org.uk , via Alexa, or from within the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
