About QEHKL Charity

The small charity with the BIG heart.

The QEHKL Charity helps to transform care – funding the very latest medical equipment, research, training and facilities for our patients and staff.

The charity exists to support those receiving care and working at The QEH. It enhances patient, carer and staff experience through supporting projects, activities, and training over and above that provided through NHS funding.

Nearly every ward across our hospital has felt the positive impact of donations, fundraising and gifts in wills – all thanks to thoughtful and generous individuals who want to make a difference in their local community.

We fund the very latest medical equipment, innovative research, and specialist medical training. Donations also transform the hospital environment for our patients and dedicated staff – making wards and hospital spaces more welcoming and comfortable.

From the small things, like providing quality reclining chairs for patients to large projects, such as funding computerised surgical equipment to help our talented surgeons, a scalp cooling device for chemotherapy patients, a mini dual laser for our Urology department, a Breast Scout that seeks out tiny cancerous cells and an ophthalmology monitoring system – this is your charity supporting your hospital.

With your vital support we can continue to transform the hospital that cares for you and your loved ones.

‘We shall never have all we need. Expectation will always exceed capacity’
